The Mala Garden Resort and Spa provides the ultimate island getaway experience with a private beachfront setting on Gili Trawangan. Guests can enjoy a dip in their private pool or relax on the terrace while enjoying incredible ocean views. The villas have modern amenities, including flat-screen TVs, spacious bathrooms, and kitchen facilities.

Dining is made easy with a mini-fridge and kettle available in all rooms. In addition, each room in the villa also has an en suite bathroom with a big rainforest shower for convenience.

We’ve stayed at this villa in Gili Trawangan multiple times, and the oceanfront location is absolutely incredible and unlike any of the other hotels with a private pool on this list. The Utara Villas in Gili Trawangan offer a luxurious experience with top-notch amenities and services. Stay in a beautiful villa with a private pool and plenty of space.

Guests can enjoy a sitting area ideal for relaxing, an alfresco dining area and private bathrooms with hairdryers and complimentary toiletries. Besides, a delicious breakfast is served at the villa every morning, and the on-site bar provides drinks, snacks and lunch options whenever you need them.

We had a fantastic time renting bicycles directly from the villa, adding extra convenience to our stay. The Utara Villas exceeded our expectations, ideally situated between the island’s peaceful and vibrant sides. The Pondok Santi Estate is an ideal beachfront destination in Gili Trawangan for those wishing to relax and unwind. We loved the decor of this villa, which was simple and charming. The outdoor shower was a real highlight, and the cleanliness of this place was exceptional. There’s also an evening room service where the bed was ready when we returned to our villa in the evening, the curtains closed, and the mosquito net was in place. It’s safe to say that the level of service at this place was some of the best I’ve ever experienced.

Guests can also enjoy relaxing massages or sunbathing on the private beach, which is located just a few steps away. In addition, the Santi Lounge bar-restaurant serves seasonal local dishes for lunch and dinner, and room and laundry services are available on request.

Finally, we loved having breakfast every morning on the beautiful white sand beach with a view of the turtles in the water. It was heavenly.

We especially appreciated the large bathtub, which allowed us to take a relaxing soak and which very few villas have. Each villa has a flat-screen TV and sitting area. Breakfast is served in the villa every morning, and it was very high-quality and absolutely delicious. We were delighted to hear that the hotel also offers vegan and gluten-free options for different dietary preferences.

Moreover, the Kuno Villas have even more to offer those seeking holistic well-being and relaxation. Daily yoga classes provide a serene environment to reconnect with mind, body and soul. We immersed ourselves in the peaceful environment, guided by experienced instructors who helped us relax and find inner balance during class.

The villa also provides snorkelling equipment at no extra cost, which means you get to go out and explore the underwater world whenever you want. Luckily, the villa is just around the corner from the famous Turtle Point, so it’s the perfect place to stay to do some snorkelling.

This is one of the more expensive villas on this list, so all this extra value comes at a price, of course.

Our stay at the Kokomo Resort was incredible! This luxurious resort on the island of Gili Trawangan offers breathtaking sea views right from the spacious private villas, making it well worth the price tag. We loved relaxing on our private patio, going across the road to spend the day at the beach, or taking a dip in the villa’s pool.

The accommodation’s amenities were top-notch, and everything looked freshly renovated. There’s an on-site restaurant at the beach serving delicious international cuisine and plenty of sun loungers reserved for hotel guests so you can spend the day by the water. Furthermore, we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast served each morning in the comfort of our villa.

The friendly staff at reception, available 24 hours a day, were always ready to advise us on local attractions and help us with our luggage.

The Beach House Resort is an absolute paradise for a relaxing seaside getaway in Gili T. The view of Mount Rinjani and the Lombok Strait is absolutely breathtaking, and since the location is so central and right by the ocean, you won’t have to go far for amazing food or the best bars.

The villa was spacious, and even though the pool isn’t the biggest, it’s the perfect hotel for a couple on a romantic getaway. We loved having dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and trying all the BBQ specialities with some incredible cocktails to go along.

We used the laundry service, and while we had had some bad experiences doing laundry in Bali in the past, this one was absolutely perfect, and our clothes came back undamaged and smelled great.

The staff were always ready to assist us and helped us book a fantastic snorkelling tour and even set up a romantic dinner. Finally, the in-room massages added an extra touch of luxury and relaxation to our stay.

Vila Ombak is a fantastic resort to stay at in Gili Trawangan, and their quite famous in the area. This is the most expensive on this list of best hotels with a private pool in Gili Trawangan, but it’s not hard to see why.

This resort provided the ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The villas with private pools were designed to blend Indonesian charm and contemporary elegance perfectly, and we loved waking up to the serene view of the lush tropical gardens from our terrace every morning.

The highlight of our stay was the large outdoor pool, where we spent hours relaxing and soaking up the sun.

The beachfront restaurant offered delicious dishes with the ocean as a backdrop. The resort also has a spa, which was fantastic since it meant we didn’t have to go far for a massage.

All that being said, Vila Ombak is definitely expensive, and unless you truly want to splurge, you can definitely find more affordable hotels with a private pool in Gili Trawangan.

Situated in the heart of beautiful Gili Trawangan, Gili Khayangan Villas is a 3-star resort with modern amenities and facilities, providing a comfortable and relaxing stay. The pool was a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the serene surroundings, while the well-maintained garden added a touch of tranquillity to the atmosphere. We loved the on-site restaurant and bar and ended up eating here almost every night.

The villas were spacious and equipped with everything we needed. It’s difficult to find 4-bedroom options on the island, so this was the perfect spot for us when a group of friends came to visit. The breakfast was particularly good, and overall the food was definitely a highlight during our stay.

The Lakshmi Villas are ideal for those seeking a luxurious and relaxing getaway without spending a fortune. We were in love with the villa’s tranquil atmosphere from the moment we arrived.

The villa we stayed in was tastefully decorated, with a spacious dining area where you can enjoy dinner with friends. What’s more, the comfortable sofas were perfect for relaxing, reading a book or having an afternoon nap before a night out.

We loved the villa staff, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable, and the in-house bike rental service was especially convenient and allowed us to explore the surrounding area at our own pace.

The three-bedroom villa we stayed in was fantastic, but we managed to have a look at a two-bedroom option, which didn’t seem to be as luxurious and could have benefitted from some renovation, so keep that in mind before booking.

The Pearl of Trawangan has the perfect beachfront location and presents guests with an exquisite and lavish experience. The private beach and restaurant on the water and the two communal outdoor pools, complete with a swim-up pool bar, are definitely an added bonus

The private pool villa was absolutely beautiful, with a little terrace and open-air bathrooms. There is a large couch in every room, so you’ve got some extra space to spread out and relax.

In my opinion, the two-bedroom villa was a lot nicer than the one-bedroom option, which was in need of some updating. We got to see both, and I would recommend booking this hotel if you’re looking for a place that has more than one bedroom.

The Pearl of Trawangan Resort has a fantastic reputation for a reason, though, and I have to say that the amenities of the hotel were beyond amazing, which is why we highly recommend it.

Pera ONE Villas is a charming resort in Gili Trawangan, offering incredible amenities to its guests. We loved this place, which felt very private and luxurious, and we’ve actually come back twice.

Each villa has a private pool, a cosy terrace, flat-screen TV and a semi-open bathroom with complimentary toiletries. The villas are small but recently renovated, so everything feels brand-new. They’re perfect for a couple or a group of friends visiting the island on a fun getaway.

Guests can enjoy breakfast in their own space every morning and use their free bikes, which are included in the nightly price so you can explore the island. This is a fantastic benefit and saves you from having to find a rental and spend another IDR 100,000 or more per day to rent bikes.

Finally, the villa also offers a 24-hour butler service, which you can use via WhatsApp, so anything you need is just a text away.

14. Tír na nÓg Beachfront Resort – 2-bedroom

Tír na nÓg Beachfront Resort is a seaside paradise, steps from the shore. Named after the adjacent Irish bar, this beachfront location is absolutely beautiful, and we loved being just steps from the sand and sea, as well as all the best nightlife on the island. We were able to snorkel and sunbathe at the beach and didn’t have to go far in the evenings to make it back home.

The hotel has several room types and exactly one private villa, so make sure to book it fast before it sells out. The villa has a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, an indoor lounge area and a terrace for relaxing, as well as two spacious bedrooms.

Every Wednesday, there is a big party at the Irish bar, which was a fun evening, but I can imagine it being slightly loud if you want to go to bed early. Definitely keep that in mind before booking.

Saving some money on your trip to Gili T but still want to stay in one of the best villas or hotels with a private pool? The following options cost around €100 per night and will make your trip unforgettable.

16. Villa Rembulan – 4-bedroom

Villa Rembulan is a bit of a hidden gem when it comes to villas with a private pool in Gili T. The place actually consists of twin two-bedroom villas that can be rented to create a big four-bedroom property. If they’re rented separately, the pool is shared with the other property, though, so that’s something to keep in mind.

This villa has a very large pool, which is rare in Gili T. Bookings also include daily breakfast that is prepared on request. The bedrooms and terraces of this place are huge, and there is even a large rooftop, which is perfect for watching the sunset.

This villa has two identical houses with two bedrooms each, one upstairs and one downstairs. One thing to note is that you need to walk through the downstairs bedrooms to reach the upstairs ones, so if privacy is an issue, this may not be the best villa for you.

The rooms are huge, but we found this a slightly strange layout.

17. Villas Edenia Resort – 1 or 2-bedroom

Villas Edenia has a great choice of private villas with private pools and sun terraces offering luxury and privacy for a fantastic price. We could relax and unwind in our little oasis, surrounded by beautiful tropical surroundings.

The open-plan living and dining area was incredibly spacious, making spending time with friends and family easy. We loved the all-white exterior, and the villa was very clean and modern, especially considering the nightly rate.

One of the highlights of our stay was having drinks and breakfast directly in our villa without having to go out, which added an extra touch of luxury to our experience. This little villa truly surprised me, and it’s safe to say that it’s one of my favourites on the island.

The only thing to keep in mind is that the villas do not come with a kitchen, but only a small fridge and a kettle, so if you want to cook at home, this may not be the best choice.

Kelapa Villas, nestled in the lush coconut grove of northwest Gili Trawangan, offers a serene and luxurious place to stay in Gili T. Fenced-in premises and private pools make each villa a secluded oasis where guests can relax and unwind. The complex has quite a few villas to choose from, including a huge 7-bedroom property which is the largest rentable villa in the Gili Islands currently.

Beautifully landscaped gardens create a picturesque setting, while each villa’s unique layout and design offer a sense of individuality. We loved the open-air bathroom, and huge garden, which was so big it was almost a waste. The kitchen was also great, and I can highly recommend these villas for large groups of friends wanting to spend time together.

We appreciated the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, who organised massages in the villa and took care of our laundry. And the free access to the on-site Trawangan Club allowed us to play tennis and go to the gym. This is actually the only tennis court on Gili T, so it was quite an experience.

The 7-bedroom villa is usually advertised as having only five bedrooms online since three of the rooms do not have ensuite bathrooms. If you’re unsure about how many people can fit, make sure to message the property directly.

The villas, with one or two bedrooms, feature a huge terrace, a comfortable living room, a dining area, and a practical kitchenette. Breakfast, served directly to the villa to start the day, was excellent, and we were glad it was included. For optimum relaxation, in-house massages are available on request.

The location of this villa is very central but still far enough from the nightlife that you don’t have to worry about noise complaints.

La Bella is a small hotel featuring a collection of cosy villas with private pools. Each villa at La Bella offers the perfect blend of comfort and affordability, with a spacious terrace, balcony and comfortable dining area.

We loved the property, which was modern and spacious, with a nice pool and comfortable outdoor lounge. The bathroom was very well equipped, including a hairdryer, which was much appreciated in the high humidity of Indonesia.

The breakfast was also decent, although we would have appreciated some more options. We couldn’t complain, though, since it was included in the nightly price, and we could have it in our room or directly on the beach. Finally, the location was ideal across from Turtle Point, so if you love snorkelling, this villa is perfect.

One thing that could be improved was the bathrooms, which were a bit outdated, but considering this is one of the more affordable villas on the list and the fact that it has such an amazing location, we were very happy.

The ASTON Sunset Beach Resort is one of Gili T’s most famous hotels, and they even offer one-bedroom villas with a private pool. The resort also has a communal pool and a beachfront restaurant, which is perfect for watching the sunset with some cocktails in hand.

The villa is cosy and modern, although there is no kitchen, which wasn’t ideal for our stay. We were still very happy overall, though, and especially considering the price, this is definitely one of the best hotels with a private pool in Gili Trawangan.

We loved the private beach of the resort and the quiet nature of the sunset side on Gili T, which is removed from any loud nightlife except for the occasional live musician with a guitar. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and it’s no wonder that the Aston is such a popular hotel in this part of Indonesia.

Our villa, at Cocotoa Boutique Hotel & Villa, was modern and comfortable, with a private entrance leading to a lovely living room and a refreshing private pool. We enjoyed maximum privacy and relaxation during our stay and would highly recommend it to others visiting.

The facilities are brand-new, and the decor is unusual and fun, which we loved.

The resort itself has quite a few facilities that villa guests can also enjoy, including a high-quality in-house restaurant, a communal pool, a bar and plenty of seating. The breakfast was great, and our stay was more than fantastic. We especially loved the 2-bedroom villa, which is extra spacious and has a pool that is half indoor and half outdoor, ensuring that there is always plenty of shade.

I’ve stayed at a lot of different hotels and villas with a private pool in Gili Trawangan, but going to every single one is, of course, not possible.

Things to do in Gili Trawangan

There are plenty of things to do on the small island of Gili Trawangan. Here are our favourites.

1. Swim with green sea turtles right at the beach

The Gili Islands are famous for their sea turtles, which you can see right at the beach here. Just head to turtle point, rent some snorkelling gear for the day, and dive into the crystal-clear waters.

2. Go on a boat tour

With so many boat tours to choose from in Gili T, it can be difficult to pick the right one. Definitely look into party boats that depart from the island or a snorkelling tour, which will take you to see some of the best coral reefs around.

3. Ride a bike around the island

With no motorised traffic on the island, renting a bike is the best way to explore Gili T or Gili Air. You can ride around the entire island in only around an hour, enjoying beautiful white-sand beaches and stunning scenery along the way.

4. See the underwater statues

The famous underwater statues, located off the coast of Gili Meno, are a must-see when snorkelling in Indonesia. Just make sure you come early in the morning or in the late afternoon when fewer other boats will be around.

5. See Indonesia’s best reggae band

Sama Sama is one of the most popular live music venues in the area, and the band that plays here most nights is legendary. You’ll love their reggae and rock songs, especially on Saturday, when the bar is open late.
